SQLPro for Postgres on Windows: SQL editor with autocomplete for tables and columns Edit cells and delete rows, then review the SQL before it runs, on Windows Visual table designer for columns, indexes and foreign keys on Windows Run one query or many, with every result set and its timing, on Windows

A great SQL editor

Syntax highlighting, autocomplete for keywords, schemas, tables and columns, one-click formatting, and tabs for every query. Run the whole script, the statement under your cursor, or just a selection, and see each result set with its timing.

Browse and edit data

Click a table to page through its rows. Edit cells and delete rows in the grid, then review the generated SQL before it is applied. Primary keys are detected and highlighted.

Visual table designer

Add and change columns, indexes and foreign keys without writing ALTER TABLE by hand, with the SQL previewed before it runs.

Schemas, views and functions

Browse schemas, tables, views and functions in the sidebar, and export tables and views as a SQL dump.

History and favorites

Every query you run is saved to History, searchable and one click from your editor. Save the ones you use often as Favorites.

Connect to anything

Connect to local servers, Amazon RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL or any host behind SSH.

Designed for daily use

Dark and light themes that follow Windows, editor color themes, customizable keyboard shortcuts, CSV import and export, and native x64 and ARM64 builds.

Get started on Windows in a few minutes

Install SQLPro for Postgres from the Microsoft Store. It runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11, with native builds for x64 and ARM64, so it works on Intel and AMD PCs as well as Arm-based laptops.

Open the app and add a connection with the host, port, user name and database. If your server sits behind a bastion host, switch on the SSH tunnel and enter the SSH details. Not ready to connect to a real server? Open the built-in sample database and try the editor, the data grid and the table designer straight away.

Write queries faster

The editor suggests keywords, schemas, tables and columns as you type, so you spend less time looking up names. Format a messy query with one click, keep several queries open in tabs, and run exactly what you need: the whole script, the statement under the cursor or only the text you have selected.

When a script runs several statements, each result set appears with its own timing, along with any errors and messages, so you can see what happened to every statement in one place.

Edit data without writing UPDATE statements

Open a table and page through its rows. Change a cell or delete a row right in the grid. Before anything is applied, SQLPro for Postgres shows the SQL it is about to run, so you can check it first. Primary keys are detected and highlighted, which makes it clear which rows an edit will touch.

Need data in or out? Import CSV files, and export tables, views and query results when you need to share them. You can also export tables and views as a SQL dump.

Change table structure visually

The table designer lets you add and change columns, indexes and foreign keys without writing ALTER TABLE by hand. The generated SQL is previewed before it runs, which is useful when you want to learn the syntax or simply double-check a change on a production database.

Works with hosted PostgreSQL

Connect to a server on your own machine or network, or to managed PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL, Heroku, Supabase or Neon. PostgreSQL 9 and above is supported. For servers that are not reachable directly, connect through an SSH tunnel.

SQLPro for Postgres or psql?

psql, the command-line client that ships with PostgreSQL, is excellent for scripting and quick checks, and many developers keep it close. A graphical client is a better fit when you want to browse tables and edit data visually, keep a searchable history of the queries you run, or design tables without remembering every ALTER TABLE option.

The two work well together. Use psql in scripts and on servers, and use SQLPro for Postgres for everyday exploration on your desktop. If you are choosing between graphical clients, see how SQLPro for Postgres compares with TablePlus, DBeaver and pgAdmin.

Free to try

SQLPro for Postgres is free to download and try with the built-in sample database. Premium, as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, unlocks full use of query results.
